I'm a total and complete newbie to home brewing, and I'm hoping to get some advice from people who could point me in the right direction! Although I have been an enthusiastic consumer of all sorts of beers for years, it's only now I'm getting around to thinking about making my own.

I got a gift of a starter kit for Christmas, and I know it's probably laughable to the long time brewers here, but I had to start somewhere!

The kit I was given is a Coopers starter kit, with brewbelt, a coopers IPA and a craft beer IPA from Home Brew West. Hopefully these will get a start, and I'll move on to bigger and better things, the ultimate goal being able to brew all grain.

Any advice before I start my journey would be gratefully received!

Ronan.

Always more than welcome on here. We all had to start somewhere - I think my first brew was the coopers cal ale kit that HBW sold at the time.

Main thing is sanitation and stable fermentation temperature. The kits are a doddle to do and give great results. Aim for 2 weeks fermentation then add any dry hops for 5 days and bottle with your priming sugar. Set the bottles somewhere at room temperature for about 3 weeks and they should then be carbonated.

Enjoy and welcome to the club!
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

Welcome...to the world of wonderful (and weird) beer
It's not laughable at all that you got the starter kit...we all start somewhere, I had the coopers kit serve me well before I got more into it. The main thing is you started, the problem is the slippery slope that's in front of you, kits, extract, equipment etc when will it be enough???
Enjoy and ask as many questions as you can..
By the way €10 membership here get you loads of discounts from home brew west and others swell as loafs of advice
Beer
1 is good, 2 is better, 3 is enough & 4 isn't half enough

You are very welcome
Yep drop a tenner to the club for full membership and I'll answer every possible question no matter how stupid you think it is to get you to brew beer as good as white hag

If I could get anything even close to a White Hag brew, I'd be more than happy! Where do I pay membership?
