Here are the "minutes" from last nights meeting:

Any errors or omissions please correct!!

1. It was agreed that Will and Jacob would be the NCB Coordinators on the NHC

2. The barrel project was discussed at length here is the summary:

a. The cost will be shared by the 8 participents.
b. At the end of life it will be dismantled and shared out
c. We will base our brew on Rosaa's Abeyleix stout as this combines some malt extract (as some of us only have small mash tuns)
d. James will put together some recipes based on this for:
     i) As Rossa brewed it
    ii) All grain version
e. Participants can adapt the recipe slightly to suit ingredients/equipment
f. Colin Mac kindly agreed to provide a home for the cask
g. The group are:
    Will, Jacob, Nigel, James
    Cahal, Brian, Colin, Renier
h. James will check the yeast supply

3. Location of the meets.
It was agreed we would stay put in the Boro until summer came!! Then we may venture out to the coast on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to the likes of Blue. Also it was agreed that we would meet at a members house for a sunny afternoon of brewing, bbqing and a few drinks.

4. AOB
Under AOB James raised the question of how the assembled group feel about paying €10 to join the NHC. All were in favour. When the question was asked "what about it going to €20" there were refs. to certain government "stealth techniques". 20 is a bit of an ask but given the discounts available should be OK.

Also James discussed the concept of a "style brew" non-competition. Say 2 months before a meet, style guidlines and recipes are given out. Members then have 2 months to do more research and brew a beer to that style. Then its brought to the meet and scored (BJCP) by two judges if possible and tasted by the members. We all thought this was a great idea.
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing
